Here's the whole caravan. Jon has his bike with Sophie in a child's seat behind him, then my tricycle with Sally in front and an awesomely huge basket in the back, and Shule and Shazer bringing up the rear. (notice the cool spider webs that Tammy put up while she was here- I think I'll post soon about our Halloween decorations).
There are so many great places to bike around here- we've been really having a great time biking as a family :)
We bought Shule this bike about a month ago and have been super thrilled with how willing and even eager he has been to learn to ride. He's never had any interest (he's actually been adamantly opposed to learning) in the past even though we've tried to teach him. Over the summer Jon and I both got bikes and expressed a desire to ride with the whole family and he was willing to try it out. He started by trying out my safer tricycle. After he crashed that, he gave Shazer's smaller bike a try and started riding it pretty much right away. So we got him his own and he's been doing great- a couple of falls but nothing serious. Yay for Shule!!
I love this one of Sally pouting because she was afraid to ride down a hill. She picked out the outfit all by herself- isn't it too cute ;)
Sally decided to brave the hill.
Here's Sophie sitting at the front of my trike. The girls LOVE this seat- it gives them a perfect view and makes them feel more in control of the ride. I wish we could fit a seat like this on Jon's bike but the bar across the top prevents it.
Here's Sophie in the seat behind Jon's bike. When we take bike rides at night she'll often fall asleep back there. I think she gets relaxed and a little bored but she doesn't complain.
Here's a picture of my sweet trike. I'm pretty sure Jon has pictures of me riding it on his phone. I'll have to get those and repost.
Feeding ducks at the park.
Posing at our picnic site.
Feasting on pb&j, apple slices, and chips.
We sat beneath this huge metal tree- some of the leaves even blew in the wind because they were hung on loops.
We started our zoo day with a 10 o'clock puppet show. The girls really liked it. Shazer hung out with some friends from church and Shule went on to the Amphibian/Reptile house.
We met up with Shule. The girls LOVE snakes. So weird!
Some cool frogs.
A creepy witch on horseback advertising the Howl-O-Ween at the Zoo.
We had a great close-up view of the jaguar chomping on a bone. Pretty cool!
