Shazer gutting his pumpkin the night before his class party. He brought his pumpkin to school along with a carving kit and his plans that he'd drawn and carved his pumpkin in his class.
The Ace of Spades ready for his last elementary school fall festival.
Pumpkins on display. His jack o'lantern is the third from the left with an airplane and helicopter- looks like it could have used a bigger candle.
They really didn't have a lot going on but it was very well attended. There was a book fair, a Mallet Masters performance, and there were baked goods and pizza for sale. There were a lot more pumpkins than the boys' previous school ever had. This school, in general, seems to have a lot more parental support than the last which is really nice. The kids and (I admit it) I were disappointed that there wasn't more for the kids to do. No games or jumping castle or costume contest or anything like that. We just walked around and looked at some cool jack o'lanterns, ate some pizza, Shazer said "hi" to some school friends and then we walked home. We did have our family (without Jon- he was late getting home from school) picture taken by the school's yearbook person but, of course, I didn't think to have her take another shot using my camera. But don't worry, I learned from my mistake and got some good pictures the next night at the church's trunk-or-treat.
