So, life has been pretty busy since the last post, with Jon and the boys all starting school and me finishing up a very difficult class- which, by the way, I'm not too happy about getting an A- in. The U of A never gave plus or minuses (which was fine with me) and ASU does give plus and minuses, so if you get a minus you have the chance to make it up in another class with a plus, but the University of Phoenix only gives minuses and no pluses, so there is no chance at keeping a 4.0 now. It doesn't seem fair to me that a 93% isn't worth the same gpa points as a 95%...whatever. It's also frustrating that all of the grading done is completely subjective, consisting mostly of papers and other writing assignments and a few power point presentations. There are never any objective evaluations like multiple choice tests. Oh well, aside from the frustration with not being able to get a 4.0 it's going well and I'm enjoying the work with the "learning team" that I'm on and it is kind of nice to get away for four hours a week to work my brain in a different way.

Right now I'm in the middle of a much needed 3 week break before my next class starts up so I've been busy playing catch up on all the annoying household chores that need to get done occasionally but can be put on hold when life is too crazy. Here are some of the things I've checked off the list so far:
  • Reorganizing the girls' room. Cleaning the stuff out from under Sally's bed. It wasn't too bad under there (not like the way my brothers used to cram all their stuff under the bed when asked to clean their room) but I was momentarily horrified to find what I thought to be mouse droppings, only to quickly (and happily) discover they were only mini chocolate chips- one of Sally's favorite treats.
  • Vacuuming under the sofa cushions
  • Dusting, dusting, dusting...
  • Wiping down the washer and dryer
  • Reorganizing the boys' room. Pulling out the boys furniture (bunk bed, dresser, shelves...) and cleaning up the stuff that had fallen under, behind, and/or down.
  • Scrubbing down both showers/tubs
  • Steam cleaning the carpets
  • Going through the pile of papers that have accumulated on top of the filing cabinet
...OK, I'm even boring myself. There are a few more things on my list (like the dreaded refrigerator-no, it's really not that bad) but I'm starting to feel like things are getting back in order and like I'm being a better steward of our things. Phew, I hope it will hold over till after the holidays when I get another break. Now, for baring with me through all this boring stuff, I promise to post some cute pictures :)

  2. Marisa,
You are so cute wanting to be the very best you can be. Your brothers who go to school don't have four children and would be happy to get an "A" Minus! Although in Jimmy's defense he does work full time AND go to school.
I wonder if I got the right baby from the nursery in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1976. You are such a great organizer. I can't figure out where that came from.
The pictures of my little grandaughters are adorable! It shows that they are so happy and healthy...you and Jon are doing a great job!
