Sophie's word acquisition has really taken off lately. She's learning many new words everyday and even though her diction isn't super- we can totally understand her most of the time now. She has so many new words that she's saying I won't even attempt to list them- but I will say that my favorite words she's been using lately are "please" and "thank you" (which, honestly, sounds more like "day choo") but I so appreciate her politeness :) She's also reached that FABULOUS stage of playing on her own without needing me to entertain her all of the time. She loves making her little toys interact with each other and I think its been helping her to practice her conversation skills. The conversations I hear crack me up. They usually go some thing like: "Help me!" "Oh no, I'm coming!" "Here, take this" "Thank you _______" The blank is usually filled in with the name of someone in our family. She especially likes to use "Jon" or "Papa"- she's got some serious Daddy love going on lately- which has been nice for me because she's not so clingy with me and will allow other people to help or comfort her ;)
This new stage also means that she's playing a lot more with Sally- which is great for both of them. They have the sweetest sister moments but there's also more contention with them learning how to share and work out conflict amicably. Good times :)
