Here's Shazer with his best friend, Aydin, at a Ninja themed event at Changing Hands Bookstore (yes, that's Sally behind Shazer wearing her pink tutu- she refused to dress up like a ninja with the boys).
I've finally started on a New Years goal by renewing our membership at the YMCA. I've started a new exercise routine; after I drop Shule off at school in the morning I take the girls to the kid's care at the YMCA and I work out. So far I've just been using the elyptical machine and treadmill but I plan on using the other equipment soon. Today, Jon and I played racquetball, which was a lot of fun, although we definitely need a refresher on the rules.
Sophie has had a hard time adjusting to the new routine- she cries every time I leave her which makes it really hard but the sweet ladies watching her assure me that she calms down within a few minutes. I think she's trying to trick me because as soon as she sees me come back to pick her up she starts wailing again, like she wants me to think she's been crying the whole time. Today was a little better, hopefully she'll get used to it soon and actually get excited about it the way Sally does- Sally actually doesn't want to leave when it's time she has so much fun.
Since Sophie gets so upset I've been trying to do something fun everyday with the girls after I work out. Monday I took them to Mc Donalds, Tuesday we went to the park, Wednesday I took them to a play date but Sophie was so clingy I ended up taking her with me to run errands, and today we went to the zoo, tomorrow we'll go to the park again but this time we'll bring sand toys and then we'll have lunch at Shazer's school with him for their Valentine's Day festivities. We've all been super exhausted by the end of the day and I've been getting to sleep before midnight (which is totally unusual). Fortunately, I haven't had a lot of homework to do this week, but if I want to keep up this new routine (which I do) I'm going to have to figure out times when I can get work done that aren't into the wee hours of the morning.
Here are some pictures taken at the zoo today:
Sally loved combing the goats. It's been a while since we've done that so she probably doesn't remember doing it before. I think I heard someone say there were 24 goats and Sally went around and combed just about every single one.
I'm only posting photos of a few of them :)
Check out this Billy Goat's hair on his chinny chin chin!
It took Sophie a while to warm up to the goats- I think she was still nervous of animals that size because Tammy's puppies were a little overzealous and knocked her over a couple of times last weekend. But after watching Sally with the goats she became more confident.
And here are a few random pictures just for fun:
My dad building a block tower taller than Sophie.
Sally cuddling up to Shazer as they watch a movie
Frankie's 30th Birthday party at Mom & Dad's.
The cutest smile!
Sally and Shazer cuddling just won my heart and made me chuckle with pleasure. Then I saw that whacked-out look on Shule's face at the party and busted a gut. Great shots! Sounds like you have all been quite busy. Hope everyone is finally 100% healthy now!
ReplyDeleteAll of us have cold this week! It should be a rule that only one person can be sick at a time in a family. A sick mommy taking care of sick kids... not pretty.
ReplyDeleteBut way to start working out. We are all in a weight loss frenzy over here. And so far so good. Marie and I have been competing to see who looses the most weight. If I win she cleans my bathroom. If she wins a have to put an entire series of some super boring show that she likes on my netflix. So far... She is winning. She's lost 7 lbs just this week. Me... 2
What a great goal!! I can't believe Frankie is 30! He doesn't look like the "boy" I remember him as. :o) BTW...how do you get the slide show on the sidebar of your blog for each kid? Love it!
