Happy Birthday Shule!

My oldest turns 11 years old today. He was my early birthday present the year I turned 22. I was so glad to have him early so I could enjoy his sweet little babiness and also enjoy not being pregnant on my actual birthday (July 22). It's hard to believe he's old enough to go to middle school in a couple of weeks. By next year he'll probably have surpassed me in height. I've been really happy and proud to see him make significant strides in the past couple years in the behaviors that come with having Asperger's. He's becoming a sweet, clever, and charming young man. We love you Shule!

We celebrated his birthday early while we were in Las Vegas this weekend for my grandfather's funeral. My mom and dad, Tammy & Austin, Frankie, Jonny, Jesse, and Brittany were all there (the only one missing from my family was Jimmy who couldn't get off work/school) so we had a little party for him in the Circus Circus' hotel room. Tammy bought him a slice of his favorite cake (chocolate). Then everyone went to the Adventurdome to do one of his favorite things- go on rollercoaster rides.

Sally was VERY interested in finding out what Shule's gifts were. It was difficult to keep her from opening them herself.

At one point, the lines for some of the rides were quite long, but the boredom was quickly forgotten after the thrill of the ride :)

I wonder what Shule is telling Jon...
