Speaking of technology, we just had a great visit with my brother, Jimmy, who was captivated with his new ipad. It is pretty awesome and I was tempted to think that I may want to replace my laptop with an ipad instead, but I couldn't help thinking of all the ways my kids could kill it (even with the funny protective case my friend Katie invented for it)- it seems much more fragile than my laptop. We'll see...
I have lots of fun photos of Easter and stuff to tell about our visit with my mom on her birthday, Shazer's 10th birthday the following weekend, the Muse concert, and our visit with Jimmy just this past weekend (there has been a lot of driving back and forth between Tucson and Tempe this past month) but for now I'll just share a couple of cute photos of my girls and some good news.
Jon was awarded another scholarship for next year (also his final year)- he got $4,500 this time. Not bad, that's $4,500 less that we'll have to pay back in student loans (plus interest) :) He said that he can definitely see the impact the recession has had on scholarship donations; the first year he got $10,000 (before the recession), then only $2,500 last year (just after the recession) and now its going up again but there were still a lot less handed out this year than the first year. I am SO looking forward to FINALLY being done with school. I have three more courses to take and will be done with them all by August, then I am taking a break during the fall and will do student teaching next spring. Jon and I will both be finishing up together in just about a year from now. Hopefully the economy will have recovered more by then and we'll be able to find some good jobs.
The girls watching a CareBear movie in their room. Hilarious!
I have to apologize for the poor quality photos- I couldn't find my camera again so I was using my cell phone for a while (I finally found it in the cup holder side compartment of the diaper bag...duh!)
Wishing...
Sliding down the hill...
Following the leader...kind of.

Your girls are adorable!! Lots of luck with school and job hunting :)
ReplyDeleteThe computer part of the laptop is fine. The screen just doesn't light up so let's not write it off just yet, there should be hope. Last year I got a $2,000 scholarship (not $2,500). About the ipad, you can't type like you can on a real computer because it has no keyboard, so it's just a toy.
ReplyDeletei love tech stuff too but tim says i don't love it enough. all in perspective i guess! i guess i love reading about all my firends! and he loves researching things out (boring). your girls are soo cute, i love their pics!
