So, November was a very busy month and December is looking like it will be almost as busy- at least the first part of the month. Jon is gearing up for finals starting this week and I have a lot of work due next week for a class that is wrapping up. Speaking of wrapping, well, we've got that going on as well, along with all of the other many fun and exhausting Christmas festivities.
We're looking forward to seeing Shule play his trombone in his first band concert this Thursday night, so there will be video of that to come. I did some fun arts and crafts type things with the kids in November in preparation for Thanksgiving but never got around to posting anything about that and now that the holiday is over it seems like the time has passed for a post about those things, perhaps I'll write about it and save it until next November, or maybe I'll post it at some random future date when there isn't much else going on (if that ever happens). Anyway, what I want to blog about today is the trip we took over Thanksgiving. We had such a blast! I'll definitely have to break it into at least two separate posts though, they were some seriously action packed days. I was also hoping to get some more photos from Tammy and Frankie but the ones we took will just have to do for now.
All of the excitement began on the Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving when I picked up Austin and Tammy from the airport. Tammy's temple sealing to Dallas had finally been broken and Tammy and Austin wanted to plan their own sealing with their family members' greatest convenience in mind, so they decided to get sealed in the Mesa temple just before Thanksgiving. Thanks so much to you both for making it so easy on everyone to be able to attend :)
I let the boys take an early day off before the break so they could hang out with family. Shortly after I picked up the Thies pair, my parents arrived with the Tucson Henderson gang- Frankie, Jesse, and Brittany. We had lots of fun hanging out and then in true Henderson style made a mad dash to get Austin and Tammy to the temple in time (fortunately it's only a ten minute drive from our place and the temple workers had requested that they come an hour before the sealing would actually take place). It was a beautiful day and a very special experience. It was late in the afternoon, so as we came out of the temple the sun was beginning to set which made it difficult to get good pictures but it was also more magical because the Christmas lights came on. Afterward, we all went to Bill Johnson's Big Apple (which turned out not to be so fantastic) and Jon had to leave early to take Shazer to a space derby for scouts which I'm sure he'll post something about next week when he's all finished with finals.
What a tremendous blessing! I am so happy for Tammy!
